Election Schedule

The City of McLainberg holds general municipal elections on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November in even-numbered years, consolidated with the statewide general election. The next McLainberg municipal election is November 3, 2026, at which three City Council seats and the Mayor's office are up for election.

How to Vote

All registered voters in the City of McLainberg are eligible to vote in City elections. Voter registration and vote-by-mail information is managed by the County Elections Office.

Register to Vote

Register or update your voter registration online at RegisterToVote.ca.gov. The registration deadline is fifteen (15) days before the election, with conditional registration available at the County Elections Office through Election Day.

Vote by Mail

All registered voters in California automatically receive a vote-by-mail ballot. Ballots must be postmarked by Election Day and received within seven days thereafter, or dropped at an official drop box by 8:00 PM on Election Day.

Running for Office

Any registered voter who is a resident of McLainberg may file nomination papers to run for City Council or Mayor. Nomination papers are available from the City Clerk's Office during the 88-day filing period that opens approximately 113 days before the election. Candidates must gather signatures from a minimum of 20 registered McLainberg voters on their nomination papers.
