Water & Sewer Service
The City of McLainberg provides municipal water and sewer service to most properties within city limits. Utility bills are issued monthly. To start, stop, or transfer service, contact the Finance Department at (555) 760-4300.
- Start/Transfer Service — Contact Finance at least 3 business days before your move-in date. A refundable deposit may be required for new accounts.
- Stop Service — Contact Finance to schedule a final meter read and close your account.
- Report a Leak — For water main breaks or urgent issues, call the Public Works 24-hour emergency line at (555) 760-4511.
- Water Conservation — McLainberg participates in regional conservation programs. Visit the City's website for current watering restrictions and rebate programs for water-efficient landscaping and appliances.
Trash & Recycling
Curbside collection service is provided by Valley Waste Solutions under a franchise agreement with the City. Service is weekly for trash, recycling, and green waste. Containers should be placed at the curb by 6:00 AM on your collection day and returned to your property by 10:00 PM.
SB 1383 Organic Waste Recycling
California SB 1383 requires all residents to separate food scraps and food-soiled paper for composting. Place these materials in your green cart along with yard trimmings. Participation is mandatory. For more information, call (555) 760-4500 or visit the Public Works Department.
Neighborhood Programs
- Neighborhood Watch — McLainberg Police Department coordinates Neighborhood Watch programs in residential areas. Contact the Police Community Services Division at (555) 760-4911 to start or join a group in your neighborhood.
- Adopt-a-Street — Individuals, families, and organizations may adopt a City street for litter removal. Participants receive City-supplied equipment and recognition signage. Contact Public Works to participate.
- Community Garden — The City operates a community garden with individual plots available to McLainberg residents on a first-come, first-served basis. Contact Parks and Recreation at (555) 760-4400 for availability.
- Free Tree Program — Eligible residents may request a free street tree through the City's Urban Forest Program. Trees are selected by Public Works based on site conditions. Apply through the Public Works Department.
Emergency Preparedness
McLainberg encourages all residents to prepare for natural disasters and other emergencies. The City participates in the County's Wireless Emergency Alert system and maintains a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program.
- Sign Up for Alerts — Register your cell phone and email address at the County Office of Emergency Services website to receive emergency notifications.
- CERT Training — Free Community Emergency Response Team training is offered by the McLainberg Fire Department several times per year. CERT volunteers assist professional responders during disasters.
- Know Your Zone — McLainberg is divided into evacuation zones A through D. Know your zone before an emergency occurs. Zone maps are available at the Police Department and on the City's website.
- Prepare a Go-Bag — Keep a 72-hour emergency kit with water, food, medications, documents, and supplies for your household.
Senior Services
The McLainberg Senior Center, located within the Community Center at 400 Recreation Drive, provides a variety of programs and services for residents age 60 and over:
- Daily congregate lunch program (Monday – Friday, reservation required)
- Fitness, arts, crafts, dance, and games
- Day trips and social excursions
- Benefits counseling and referrals to county aging services
- Transportation assistance through the County Senior Transportation Program

Youth Programs
McLainberg offers a wide range of youth programs through the Parks and Recreation Department and in partnership with local schools and non-profit organizations:
- Youth sports leagues (soccer, basketball, flag football, T-ball)
- Summer Day Camp for ages 5–13
- After School Recreation program at select elementary schools
- Junior Lifeguard program at the Aquatic Center
